Sup. Jacob says Leventhal will advocate for fiscal responsibility<\/em><\/p>\n

(San Diego, CA) \u2013 San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob today announced her endorsement of Joe Leventhal for San Diego City Council, District 5.<\/p>\n

Supervisor Jacob was first elected to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors in 1992. Now serving a seventh consecutive term, she has held elective office longer than anyone in San Diego County government history. Supervisor Jacob has earned a reputation over her decades of service as a tireless fighter for taxpayers and as an advocate for government accountability.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m endorsing Joe Leventhal for City Council because I\u2019m confident that he will serve the people of San Diego with integrity,\u201d said Supervisor Jacob. \u201cJoe will fight for a balanced approach to the issues that impact our community every day. He will protect San Diego taxpayers by advocating for fiscal responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe has already been endorsed by San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, San Diego County Board of Education Chair Mark Powell, homeless advocate Father Joe Carroll, retired San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, and the Associated Builders and Contractors of San Diego, among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud to be endorsed by Supervisor Jacob, a San Diego County leader that is well known for her efforts to improve government accountability,\u201d said Joe Leventhal. \u201cWhen I am elected to the San Diego City Council, I will continue Supervisor Jacob\u2019s work to ensure each tax dollar our city receives is spent wisely.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once elected to the San Diego City Council, Joe will prioritize solutions to reduce homelessness, enhance public safety, and expand road repairs. Joe believes that bold, collaborative leadership, as he\u2019s demonstrated throughout his life, is the best way to approach San Diego\u2019s persistent challenges. The 5th District includes the communities of Black Mountain Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Miramar Ranch North, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Encantada, Rancho Pe\u00f1asquitos, Sabre Springs, San Pasqual, Scripps Miramar Ranch and Torrey Highlands. The District\u2019s registration is nearly evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.<\/p>\n
