On Tuesday, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park thanked our brave firefighters with free admissions for the month of September.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Safari Park is a principal component of San Diego culture. Their animals all have an inspiring history and mesmerize every visitor, whether it’s their first time at the Zoo, or if they’re an annual pass holder.<\/span><\/p>\n

This month, our fellow San Diegans at the Safari Park are working to share these beautiful and interesting animals with our heroic first responders. When disaster strikes, these men and women run towards the chaos and danger that the rest of us flee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Chula Vista Fire Department Captain Jeremy Czapinski, \u201cfirefighting is so meaningful for ample reasons. Namely, it is community based, there are never two days that are the same, and whatever the consequences, they never outweigh the ultimate goal of protecting the American people. There are many dangers and we acknowledge the risks, however the cause is greater than ourselves. My fellow firefighters and I at the Chula Vista Fire Department are humbled that the Safari Park is honoring first-responders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Firefighters are everyday heroes who walk among us; they deserve to be honored for their bravery and sacrifice. Some, like Captain Czapinski, have been pass holders with the San Diego Zoo Safari Park for many years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Safari Park understands that honoring our first responders is necessary and worthwhile. Although these superheroes do not wear capes, firefighters wear something far more valuable: American pride and our gratitude.<\/span><\/p>\n
