Former Assembly Republican Leader George Plescia joins the growing list of political and business leaders who have endorsed Patrick Batten\u2019s campaign for San Diego City Council<\/em><\/p>\n

SAN DIEGO (September 3, 2019)\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u2013 Former Assembly Republican Leader George Plescia has announced his support for Patrick Batten for City Council.<\/p>\n

\u201cI enthusiastically endorse Patrick Batten for San Diego City Council,\u201d said George Plescia. \u201cPatrick is a long-time resident of the district; understands the intricacies of each community and will be a tireless champion for the community\u2019s best interest.\u201d<\/p>\n

George Plescia represented the constituents of the 75th Assembly District from 2002 to 2008. Nearly all of the current San Diego Council District 5 sat within the 75th Assembly District during Assemblyman George Plescia\u2019s term.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrick has been engaged in service to his community, to San Diego and to the country for more than 25 years,\u201d said Plescia. \u201cWhether working in the legislature to support fiscally responsible policies, serving our country in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan or volunteering in his local community, he has always put the interest of others over his own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plescia joins a growing list of endorsements for Patrick Batten, which includes, but is not limited to: Congressman Darrell Issa, Supervisor Bill Horn, Senators Jim Battin, Mark Wyland and Joel Anderson, Assemblyman Russ Bogh, and former City Councilman Jim Madaffer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe endorsement of former Republican Assembly Leader George Plescia continues to build on the momentum we are seeing in the community for my campaign,\u201d said Batten. \u201cGeorge represented this district in Sacramento and protected the values of our community. As your next San Diego City Councilman from District 5, I will put the interest of our communities above partisan politics and political agendas.\u201d<\/p>\n

About Patrick Batten<\/strong>
\nPatrick Batten is a graduate of San Diego State University. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after 9\/11 and later commissioned as an Artillery Officer. He served in combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. He and his wife Kelly, reside in the community of Westwood in Rancho Bernardo where they are raising their four children. Patrick serves on the Rancho Bernardo Community Council, Maintenance Assessment District and volunteers his time in the community.
