Gavin Newsom just outright denied all responsibility for California\u2019s COVID debacle. Asked about his widely criticized shutdowns, Newsom claimed he allowed \u201clocal control\u201d and that as Governor he had \u201clittle ability to determine\u201d COVID policies.<\/p>\n

This is a lie of historic proportions. School shutdowns, business shutdowns, church shutdowns, mask mandates, vaccine mandates \u2013 all were done unilaterally by Newsom. Not through \u201clocal control.\u201d You can see the video clip and my response\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

We will not let Newsom escape responsibility for the nightmare he put us through. With each step he takes towards the national stage \u2013 with every falsehood he utters \u2013 I will set the record straight and assure every American knows what he\u2019s done to our beautiful state.<\/p>\n

Newsom, of course, is aware of that. Which is why he has sent his \u201cDeputy Secretary\u201d to run against me, set her up with Eric Swalwell\u2019s campaign manager, and started orchestrating ridiculous \u201cUnmask Kevin Kiley\u201d rallies throughout my district.<\/p>\n

You can see some photos from their latest rally\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>. The demonstrators stood at an intersection with signs reading, \u201cKick out Kiley,\u201d \u201cKiley is bad for CD 3,\u201d \u201cKiley is not one of us,\u201d and \u201csmash the patriarchy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Towards the end of his China trip, Newsom tried to show off his basketball skills. He tripped over his own feet and fell flat on his face (taking down a grade-school child with him). You can see the video\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>; it will be the lasting image of his widely ridiculed trip to China.<\/p>\n

With your help, it will be the lasting image of his entire political career. As Newsom attempts to rewrite history, remove me from Congress, and vault himself to the White House, it is up to us to fight back and stop him. The future of our state and country depends on it.<\/p>\n
