SACRAMENTO – Today, Assembly Democrats smashed through the Legislature yet another attack on California taxpayers and Prop. 13.<\/p>\n

Assembly Constitutional Amendment 13<\/a> is a last minute attempt to curtail voters\u2019 ability to pass taxpayer protection measures like Prop 13, which keeps millions of Californians in their homes and out of poverty.<\/p>\n

\u201cDemocrats will stop at nothing to drive California\u2019s cost of living even higher. Rather than allowing voters to protect themselves from even higher taxes, Democrat politicians are changing election rules to benefit themselves and their special interest allies<\/em>,\u201d said Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (Yuba City).<\/strong> \u201cThe Legislature has done nothing to tamp down on the special interests who have run failed ballot measures over and over that make it harder to do business. It\u2019s clear that ACA 13 is about making it easier to raise taxes and making it difficult for families to live in California.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
